Think of LA and the famous Hollywood sign, celebrities, movie studios, Beverly Hills, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and awful freeway traffic are amongst the things that come to mind. For me personally, I would now add their houses to the list because LA has some of the most varied, beautiful and interesting houses ever.

As Hubby and I explored the Venice Canals neighbourhood on bike, it almost became a routine to stop every 2 minutes to admire, coo over and photograph the houses. No 2 houses were the same – there were Spanish hacienda style homes, art deco style sanctuaries, picture pretty “Little House On The Prairie” style homes, mock Tudor towers and Hobbit-esque cottages.

Don’t get me started on the abundance of orange and lemon trees that seemed to spring effortlessly from the sidewalks and front gardens…Glorious!

The sunshine and blue skies provided the perfect lighting to show off these houses…
